Day 90

April 4, 2011

“L.A. Baby

I had to do some film photos in Downtown LA for class – but I wanted to get some digital shots as well. The passer-by’s of the 110 freeway over 4th street!

Day 054

February 27, 2011

“No bueno”

This took all of 15 seconds to take. I took 4 pictures (within 15 seconds) and this was the best. I did want to get creative with being sick in bed but I had zero energy, no voice, and loopy from nitequil. I wanted to honor my 365 project by still having a photo whether perfect health, sick, rain or shine… so here is my sickly attempt at saying no bueno. LOL

Day 052

“The Rainy Clear Night”

I’m so tired. Ran outside real quick to get a picture of the street with rain coming down but the rain didn’t show up. But a car drove by… so I just snapped that. I know… not creative… but I’m sick in bed.

Day 047

February 20, 2011

“The Wizard”

This is a statue that has been in my parents house since I was a kid… its so strange… anyway because its a wizard and has stars I decided to cut out a star and create a star shaped hood for the lens to get the star bokeh in the background. I used my Speedlite 580EX-II offcamera to just barely light the statue to give it an eerie look.

Day 046

“Turtle Butterfly Bokeh Lights”

Okay so this didn’t get where I wanted it to, due to space. I went as far back as I could with the 50mm 1.4 lens but the butterflies didn’t come out. I had to take 2 steps back and at that point the butterflies in the lights came out but it was hand held and no room for tripod… (need a bigger living room???)

So now I know I CAN do it, I will play around more with it tomorrow. I wanted to get a picture before 12am…. so this will have to do. 🙂

Below was the intended bokeh effect…

“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”

My daughter has a light up turtle that I hung over her bed and twirl around for her to watch. I took a slow shutter speed and used only the lights from the stars to light up her in her crib.

“The Gas Station from Hell”

Las Virgines road by Pepperdine over looking PCH at night. I noticed that the SHELL station sign has a missing “S” in it which now just reads “HELL” station. Thought it was funny.
